Times of crisis are turning points. We can’t go back to the way it was (never could), or the way we were. Everything has changed. We can fight it or embrace change. We cannot change outer circumstances, but we can be master of the direction we turn–whether looking back in grief, looking down in remorse, ahead in fear or around at what’s present and available right now. We can choose to look within and be the compassionate witness of the waves of all those emotions. We can learn to ride the waves of turbulent tides with confidence, firm foothold, and turn-on-a-dime resilience in high surf.
Turning points are like a wave curl, where there is silence and calm in the center of the storm that gives an opportunity for something new to be birthed from the depths:
- A creative endeavor
- A new career path
- Innovative solutions
- Building strength and resilience
- Loving kindness
- Contribution and service
Turning points are excellent times to reflect on what needs to be changed, or let go:
- Decluttering mind and space
- Unhealthy habits
- Shame and guilt
- Drama and destructiveness in relationships
- Negative thoughts
The time is Now. There is a fierceness that lives in us. It is the human will to stay alive and thrive.
Stoke the fire of strength of character. Let it burst forth. Have courage to step into your greatness and offer it through every thought, feeling, word, and action.
Crisis and turning points are most successfully navigated with guidance and support. If you feel called to use this time to make significant changes, I want to help you draw out the brilliance of your own wisdom. Reach out and let’s talk.
