There is much to be thankful for in my life, all due to the special people past and present that have made a difference. The Enneagram has helped my relationships immensely, by showing me how our differences are what makes life interesting, challenging and fulfilling. Each type brings unique strengths that together make things happen, solve problems and allow me to thrive in a diverse and collaborative community.
I am grateful for the Ones in my life who are super organized and show me a better way to do things. Their example inspires me to have the patience to spend the extra time to see something through to completion, done well.
From Twos I learn how to keep the flow of giving and receiving. I appreciate the Twos I have known that have been eager to jump in and help, are generous with their time, the way they listen fully, and know what is needed in any situation.
There have been significant Threes in my life that have taught me how to show up with confidence, set and achieve lofty goals, and to know my own value. They’ve given me opportunities for leadership and growth by their affiliation and trust in me.
The Fours I call friends make sure our connection stays strong by keeping in touch. When we are together, our conversation is real, caring and insightful. I learn to listen deeply and share myself fully.
Fives have been and are pillars of quiet strength and groundedness. Fives show me stillness, keen observation and how to slow down and enjoy solitude. Also, how to take things in stride and let things go, rather than make an issue out of something.
Sixes have taught me much, since I lived in their shoes for many years. How to face my fears, have courage and faith, be a loyal friend and trust that I am capable.
Sevens keep me lighthearted. We have a great time together, enjoy stimulating conversations, fun places, delighting the senses and sharing tasty foods. We are simpatico, and I appreciate their wisdom and input.
Eights have been the excitement and the sandpaper, and I’ve learned a lot from both. I have to show up fully present and ready to engage with the Eights in my life. From them, I’ve learned to be more direct, bold and straightforward, living life to the fullest.
Nines make me smile and I feel good when I’m around them. Easygoing and diplomatic, they’ve taught me to be less opinionated (working on it), more understanding and able to hold contradictions. Nines show me how to lead with the power of quiet strength.
